Females have a pair of ovaries, held by membrane beside the uterus on each side of the lower abdomen.  Th is  organ  p l a y s  a very important role in overall reproductive process. Ovarian Cancer   It refers to any cancerous growth that begins in the ovary. It goes undetected until it has spread within the pelvis and abdomen. It can start in the ovary’s germ, stromal, or epithelial cells. Germ cells are the cells that become eggs. Stromal cells make up the substance of the ovary. Prostate Cancer: Prostate cancer is cancer that occurs in the prostate — a small walnut-shaped gland in men that produces the seminal fluid that nourishes and transports sperm. Prostate cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in men. Risk factors: Age Your risk of prostate cancer increases as your age. Race For reasons not yet determined, black men carry a greater risk of prostate cancer than do men of other races. In black men, prostate cancer is also more likely to be aggressive or advanced. It extracts water and salt from solid wastes before they are eliminated from the body and is the site unlike the small intestine, the colon does not play a major role in absorption of foods and nutrients. However, the colon does absorb water, sodium and some fat soluble vitamins.
